SPEEDY MOTORCYCLIST DEAD IN CALAMBA CITY ROAD CRASH

A fast-running motorcyclist died after figuring in a self-accident in Calamba City, Laguna on Friday.

The Region 4A police reported that the victim, Dennis Pajinag, was traveling aboard his motorcycle when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a plastic barrier along the national highway in Barangay Milagrosa at around 8:50 p.m.

The wayward motorcycle subsequently crashed into a concrete post. The victim died on the spot from a fatal head injury.

Footages from a closed-circuit TV camera in the vicinity showed the victim traveling at a high speed.

The report did not say whether the victim was wearing a crash helmet for protection as mandated under the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.

Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group data show that the PNP-HPG recorded more than 6,000 motorcycle accidents last year across the country.
