Police arrested three female drug suspects and seized over P1.6 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from them in a buy-bust operation on Saturday, Sept. 24, in San Mateo town in Rizal province.

The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO 4A) said in a report that anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Joana Babasa, Ana Mae Oliva, and Neavie Guzman, after they allegedly sold a pack of meth to a poseur buyer in Barangay Ampid 1 on Saturday afternoon.

Seized from the suspects were six plastic sachets of shabu weighing 240 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P1,632,000.

The police were conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

The report tagged Babasa as included on the drug watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individual in the local drug scene.

Brigadier General Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr., PRO 4A chief, commended all the operatives involved in the operation.

He said the successful anti-illegal drugs operation “will surely create a mark on the minds of these criminals that we are serious in our campaign against dangerous drugs”.

The suspects were detained and faced charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
